BIRMINGHAM – UAB head men's soccer coach David Lilly announced the additions of Kyle Findlay and Adam Reakes on Monday. Lilly enters his first season leading the Blazers in 2024.
Findlay has served as an assistant coach on Lilly's staff at East Tennessee State and Milligan over the last six seasons. During his two years at ETSU, the Buccaneers held a record of 17-11-6 while leading the finishing second-place finish in the SoCon in 2022 and first-place in the league in 2023. They also went 7-1-2 in SoCon play, the best record of any team in the league during that time.
While at Milligan, Findlay helped the Buffs to a record of 42-26-3 and back-to-back appearances in the NAIA National Tournament. During his final season with the Buffs, he helped the program win the Appalachian Athletic Conference championship after a 12-3 season that ended with a No. 22 NAIA ranking.
Prior to his time in the collegiate ranks, Findlay held head and assistant coaching positions with organizations in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. He served as a program manager and coach for the Chicago Fire, spent time with the Fulham FC Development Center in England and was a head coach within The Cove FC's youth system in Australia.
Adam Reakes joins the Blazers after one season at Wofford. He helped the Terriers to a 7-4-6 record and a 3-0-2 mark in conference play. He previously served as an assistant coach at Nova Southeastern University for the 2022 season, helping the Sharks to a 7-6-4 record.
Reakes has extensive experience at the youth, collegiate and professional levels, most recently serving as the head coach of Apotheos FC of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). He held assistant coaching and lead recruiting positions at Reinhardt University in Georgia in addition to acting as Director of Coaching for Academy Juniors of Inter Atlanta FC. Reakes served as an assistant with the Georgia Revolution of the NPSL, while also acting as the Elite Youth Coach and Technical Advisor for Colchester United FC from 2016-17 before taking over as the Elite Development Coach for Inter Atlanta FC from 2017-19.
