Washington and Fellows Lead UAB at Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Led by Gabby Washington and Trinity Fellows, the UAB women's track and field team completed its final meet before the AAC Championship on Saturday at the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt.
Both Washington in the 200-meter dash and Fellows in the pole vault set PRs and their performances were good for third on UAB's all-time list for their respective event.
Washington ran a 24.46 and placed seventh overall in the 200m. Fellows cleared 3.83m and took second place in the pole vault.
In the 60-meter dash, Hannah Smith qualified for the semifinals and ultimately placed 27th overall, while Kat Duren qualified for the semifinals in the 60m hurdles and took 23rd place overall.
Additionally, Loren Johnson notched a top-10 finish in the triple jump by placing eighth in the triple jump 11.66m.
The Blazers now turn their attention to the AAC Indoor Track & Field Championship which will be held at the Birmingham Crossplex on Feb. 23-24.
