UAB Softball Announces 2025 Schedule

BIRMINGHAM - Taylor Smartt and the UAB Softball Team have announced the 2025 schedule starting February 6th in Mobile, Alabama. The Blazers unveiled their 2025 schedule on Monday morning, which features four SEC opponents.
The schedule features five NCAA tournament teams from a year ago, including SEC opponents Alabama, Auburn, and Mississippi State. South Alabama and FAU also made the NCAA Tournament last season.
UAB will start their season off at the South Alabama Invitational February 6-8 in Mobile, Alabama. The competition features South Alabama, Northwestern State, UIC, and Murray State. UAB will then travel six miles the next weekend to play in the Samford Invitational featuring Indiana State and Samford.
All four tournaments to begin the year will be played in the state of Alabama with UAB hosting February 21-23. The Green and Gold Classic will be held for the second consecutive year at Mary Bowers Field. This year's field features Belmont, Southern Indiana, Purdue, and Samford.
A midweek contest at Mississippi State will be played February 26th before the Blazers wrap up tournament play in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at the 2025 T-Mobile Crimson Classic. The 2012 National Champions will host UAB, SIUE, and Furman February 28 - March 2.
Conference play starts in Florida as the Blazers travel to Tampa for a battle against South Florida. UAB will then host seven straight home games against FAU (March 14-16), Mississippi State (March 19), and Tulsa (March 21-23). Other home conference series include Wichita State (April 4-6) and East Carolina (April 25-27).
The Blazers will play a total of 32 road games and only 20 home games in Taylor Smartt's first year. That includes eight away weekends and just five home weekends.
The 2025 American Athletic Tournament will be played in Tampa, Florida at South Florida starting March 7.
