BIRMINGHAM – Bradley Ezewiro scored 19 points to lead UAB men's basketball (7-6) past Alcorn State (0-13) on Sunday afternoon in the final non-conference game of the season.

Christian Coleman got off to a fast start for the second straight game, scoring the Blazers' first seven points.

The Blazers used an 17-4 run starting at the 7:59 mark to extend their lead to double digits at 41-23, capped off by a Coleman layup in transition. UAB shot 64 percent from the field in the first half to jump to a 50-31 lead at the break.

Bradley Ezewiro scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half while shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field. UAB's lead extended to as many as 27 points at the 8:36 mark.

Alejandro Vasquez had an efficient game from the field, scoring 15 points on 10 field goal attempts. Of his 15 points, 10 came in the second half. Keionte Cornelius led the Braves with 22 points, scoring 19 of them in the second half.

UAB closed non-conference play with a 91-74 win over the Braves to move to 7-6 on the season.

NOTES

Bradley Ezewiro scored a season-high 19 points while shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field and 9-for-9 from the free throw line.
Yaxel Lendeborg put together an all-around game with 14 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and two steals while shooting 6-for-8 from the field.
Christian Coleman added 15 points while shooting 6-for-8 from the field.
Alejandro Vasquez scored 15 points and shot 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.
The Blazers had over 20 assists for the fifth time this season, the most since the 2017-18 season.
UAB has scored over 90 points in six games this season.
