Volleyball Preview: Florida Atlantic & South Florida

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB Volleyball team will be finishing up the regular season this week in south Florida. The team's first stop is in Boca Raton to play Florida Atlantic and its second stop will be in Tampa to face South Florida. FAU vs. UAB will be played Friday night at 5 p.m. CT. USF vs. UAB will be played Sunday at 10 a.m. CT.
UAB has won two out of the last four, while Abby Jones lost her streak of games with more than 10 kills at Rice. Madison Page currently ranks third in the conference in blocks per set with 1.08. UAB is coming off of a win against Memphis 3-1, which puts the Blazers tied for 9th in the AAC.
FAU holds an 8-3 record against UAB with the teams splitting last year's two games. The Blazers have won two out of the last three games against the Owls. Before that FAU won seven straight games from 2014-2023.
South Florida holds a 36-9 record against UAB winning four straight. The Blazers have played the Bulls 10 times this century with just one win in 2003. South Florida won 16 straight games from 1995-2002.

FAU is third in the conference in assists per set (12.50).
The Owls are also third in the conference in kills per set (13.24).
Victoria Hensley is 15th in the country in total assists and leads the conference (1,046).
USF: Behind the Numbers
USF is ranked 17th in the country in assists per set (13.04).
South Florida ranks 25th in kills per set (13.83).
Carolina Dykes leads the AAC in assists per set (10.71) and is 15th in the country.
Maria Clara Andrade leads the conference in total kills (399).
The Blazers are fighting for a conference tournament spot currently sitting at 5-9. Temple and North Texas also have a 5-9 record just one game back from seventh place Tulane and Memphis.
