BIRMINGHAM - The UAB Volleyball team dropped their eighth straight game at home against Wichita State. Wichita State won the game 3-0 with close sets two and three.

Jorda Crook had a game high of 17 kills, which is the fourth time this season she has went for more than 15 kills. She also only had four errors good enough for a .394 hitting percentage.

The match started off with UAB holding a slight 13-11 lead midway through the first set. The Shockers went on an eight point run shortly after that and led 22-14. Wichita State closed set one out on another four point run to win 25-15.

UAB tried to come back in sets two and three but were unable to do so. Wichita State hit .235 and .286 in those sets. After a service ace by Abby Jones th eBlaxers led 17-16 in the second set. The Shockers were led by Alyssa Gonzoles who had 10 kills and 0 errors (.476). Another number that stood out was at the serve line. UAB had 12 service errors, while Wichita State had just five. The Shockers also dominated in the block department with a 9-3 advantage over the Blazers.
