NEW ORLEANS - Jorda Crook leads UAB with eight kills, as Tulane wins their first conference match of the year. The 88 minute match featured two teams that started 0-2 in the conference.

Madison Page added three blocks tonight as she leads the American Athletic Conference in blocks per set at 1.13. Madison Page and Chloe Rodriguez had a total of zero attack errors in their eight attempts. Another bright spot was Jorda Crook who leads the team in kills: finishing]"with eight on the night with just one error.

Both teams finished with 18 attacking errors while Tulane finished with a slight edge in hitting percentage .187-.117. The first set looked as though it was going to foreshadow the rest of the match, but after a 5-5 tie, The Green Wave opened a 15-8 lead. The lead would never be relinquished as Tulane won 25-18.

An 11-0 run started off set two for Tulane, as the Blazers could not get anything going. Three service aces helped accomplish that 11-0 run to start the second. Despite that start, UAB hit .290 with just two errors. UAB showed a lot of fight, getting back to within three at 15-18. Mia Reese stung one into the left side of the court for an ace. Tulane would go on to win the second set 25-19.

UAB hit -.056 in the third with 10 attacking errors, despite running off with a 7-2 lead. There were 10 errors through the first 16 points by both teams. Tulane went on a run of their own to open up a 14-7 lead looking for the sweep. UAB would fight once again to get the score to within four, but it wouldn't be enough. Tulane wins this one 25-20.

NEXT GAME
UAB is back at home on Friday against Wichita State. First serve will be at approximately 7 p.m.
