UAB Drops a Pair of 4-3 Matches in Nashville

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team suffered a pair of 4-3 losses this weekend at Lipscomb and at Belmont in Nashville to open the 2024 season.
The Blazers (0-2) fell at Lipscomb in their season opener on Saturday. Despite UAB winning the doubles points, Lipscomb was able to win singles matches on courts one, three, four and five to win the match. Adela Wasserbauerova and court two and Maggie Smith on court six won their singles matches.
Against Belmont, the Blazers dropped the doubles point and needed to win four singles matches but were only able to win three. Wasserbauerova once again won for the Blazers on court two, while Vanessa Mellynchuk was victorious on court three and Mackenzie White won on court six.
