Blazers Finish Level Against Georgia Southern

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's soccer (0-4-4) tied Georgia Southern (1-3-5) on Tuesday night at PNC Field.
The Blazers were able to generate numerous chances against the Eagles with eight shots apiece in each half. UAB outshot Georgia Southern 16-11 on the night.
After a scoreless first half, UAB took the lead in the 56th minute. Haris Osmanbasic played the ball into the box to Humphrey Doh, who put a shot on frame. Doh's shot was saved by the keeper, but the ball fell at the feet of Noe Garcia who was able to give UAB the lead at 1-0.
The Eagles increased their pressure on the attack after the UAB goal. Eight of their 11 shots occurred in the final 35 minutes. Georgia Southern was able to find an equalizer in the 76th minute after Alistair Danjon's free kick could not be handled and Zachary Martin was there to clean it up to tie the match.
Each team had a chance to earn the victory, but neither side could put it away in the final minutes.
UP NEXT
The Blazers will return to AAC action on Friday at Tulsa. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT and the match will stream live on ESPN+.
