UAB Falls to FAU in Game Two on Friday

After UAB took an early lead in the first, FAU came back and tied the game after the fourth. The game stood tied until the Owls scored multiple runs in the seventh and ninth innings to take the lead while the Blazers could not bring home another run before the final out.
Blayze Berry started on the mound for UAB and allowed three runs – earned – on six hits with seven strikeouts during four and one third innings. Leo Harris (1-1) relieved Berry and was given the loss after he threw four and two third innings and gave up five runs on five hits with six strikeouts – a career-high.
Logan Braunschweig (2-for-3) and Brandon Willoughby (2-for-4) collected a multi-hit game. Braunschweig hit two singles and collected his 16th stolen base while Willoughby picked up two doubles including an RBI. Gavin Lewis Jr. hit his sixth home run of the year and third in the past three games.
