BIRMINGHAM – UAB Softball concluded their home campaign at Mary Bowers Field with a victory over UTEP on Senior Sunday. The Blazers closed out with an 8-5 win over the Miners to improve to a record of 28-21 and 15-6 in Conference USA.
"Very proud to be able to send these seniors off with a home sweep," said head coach AJ Daugherty. "UTEP is a good offensive team, and for us to hold them to seven runs over the weekend speaks to our pitching and defensive efforts. The offense did their part in collecting double digit hits and producing 18 runs for the series."
UAB improves to a six-game win streak in conference play and seven games overall. The Green and Gold finish their homestand with a record of 18-10.
