UAB Baseball Concludes Series at Charlotte After Dropping Game Three

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UAB Baseball (12-27, 4-14) dropped game three by a score of 2-0 to Charlotte (22-17, 12-5) on Sunday, April 23.
A pitching duel and strong defense provided a low scoring game which included a no-hitter from Charlotte's starting pitcher until Gavin Lewis Jr. ended it in the ninth while collecting UAB's first and only hit of the game. The Blazers ended the second and third innings with back-to-back pick-offs – one from Henry Hunter who caught his 12th baserunner and a pick-off, caught stealing play.
Carson Myers (1-4) threw a career-high innings (seven) and tied his season high in strikeouts (seven). Myers allowed one run – earned – on three hits with five walks during his 28 batters faced. Tyler O'Clair and Christian Clack closed out the game for UAB. O'Clair allowed one run on three hits while Clark gave up no runs on no hits with one walk and a strikeout.

UAB will travel to Montgomery, Ala. for a mid-week game against in-state foes the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. First pitch is scheduled for 6 P.M. on ESPN+.
