UAB Baseball Travels to the Plains for a Mid-Week Matchup Against Auburn

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Blazers (4-7) will meet the Auburn Tigers (9-1-1) for an in-state matchup on Tuesday, March 7 at Plainsman Park. First pitch is set for 6 P.M. on SEC Network+.

The Blazers are coming off a 5-2 win over Notre Dame where Brooks Walton threw eight and a third innings to secure the win followed by Carson Knight who collected the save after getting the final two outs.
Five Blazers have started each game so far in the season including Christian Hall, John Marc Mullins, Darryl Buggs, Ben Abernathy and Brayton Brown. Hall (.297), Mullins (.273), Buggs (.263) and Abernathy (.262) lead the offense in batting average.
Auburn will enter the matchup after sweeping Lipscomb which extending its record to 9-1. For the Tigers, Ike Irish and Bryson Ware both have batting averages over .500 - .535 and .513 respectfully. The Auburn pitching staff is led by John Armstrong who currently holds a 3.00 ERA and the most wins off the team (4).
SERIES HISTORY AND COACHING TIES
UAB and Auburn are no strangers. The two programs have met on the diamond since 1994 with Auburn leading the series 32-4. The last two home-and-home games went to the Tigers including the 6-4 win over the Blazers at Regions Field on April 5, 2022.
Head coach Casey Dunn is also no outsider to the Auburn Baseball program. Coach Dunn will return to his alma mater where he spent four seasons with the team from 1996-99.

The Blazers and Tigers will meet again on April 4 for the annual game at Regions Field.
