Women’s Tennis Claims Two Titles at Roberta Allison Fall Classic

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's tennis team claimed two titles at the Roberta Allison Fall Classic last weekend hosted by the University of Alabama.
Freshman Klara Kajabova shined as she won her won her first collegiate tournament with wins over UT Chattanooga, South Alabama and East Tennessee State. Kajabova won two of her three matches in straight sets and defeated Tereza Dejnoskova of South Alabama in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
In doubles, Vanessa Mellynchuck and Adela Wasserbauerova won their doubles flight with wins over Nebraska, Ole Miss and East Tennessee State. The match against Nebraska came down to the wire as the UAB duo won in a tie break 7-6 (6). They breezed through their other two matches with a 6-3 win over Ole Miss before blanking ETSU 6-0 for the title.
