Men's Soccer Takes on Memphis at PNC Field

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's soccer hosts Memphis on Saturday at PNC Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT. Saturday night will be our Youth Night and Kids Club match. Any youth wearing a soccer jersey will be eligible for a $2 ticket.

SERIES HISTORY
Memphis leads the all-time series 22-20-1. The teams have faced each other every season dating back to 1991. The Blazers' 43 meetings with the Tigers are the most against a single opponent in program history. Memphis won last year's contest 2-0.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE BLAZERS
UAB fell at home to Purdue Fort Wayne, 3-1. After the Mastadons took an early 1-0 lead, the Blazers answered back with Mayno Linares' first goal of the season, but PFW scored a pair of second half goals to take the match.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis is led by Lineker Rodrigues Dos Santos, who has eight goals, including DI-leading five game-winners, this season. Jackson Kim also has three goals for the Tigers. Colin Welsh has started the majority of the matches for Memphis in goal.
FRESHMAN MAKING AN EARLY IMPACT
Isaac Calderon is making his mark early in his UAB career. The freshman from North Las Vegas, Nev. put one in the back of the net in his collegiate debut at Northern Kentucky and followed that up with another goal at Georgia State in game two. Calderon was ranked as the No. 64 player in Top Drawer Soccer's recruiting rankings for the 2023 class.
NEWCOMERS STEPPING UP
This season, underclassmen have scored eight of the Blazers' 10 goals, with five coming from newcomers. Freshmen Isaac Calderon and Humphrey Doh lead the Blazers with two goals each while Kaleb Jowers, Alan Melendez, Noe Garcia and Haris Osmanbasic each have one. Five of the eight goalscorers had not scored a goal for UAB entering the season.
GOLD CARD
Men's Soccer season tickets are available for $65 by purchasing the 2023-24 Gold Card. The Gold Card will allow you to gain access to all home events for Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Softball, and Baseball (Regions Field & Young Memorial). This card is not valid for American Athletic Conference or NCAA Championship events.
