BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team hits the road again for a Jan. 11 matchup against WKU. The tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
UAB LATELY
UAB (9-5, 1-4 C-USA) is coming off a 91-89 setback against FIU on Jan. 7. The Blazers are 2-3 on the road this season.
WKU LATELY
WKU (5-8, 2-2 C-USA) defeated UTSA 77-69 on Jan. 7. The Lady Tops are 3-3 at EA Diddle Arena this season.
UAB AND WKU HISTORY
The series dates back to 1981 and has been played 27 times with WKU holding a 19-8 advantage over UAB. The teams met 12 times when they were members of the Sun Belt, with the Blazers only win coming in 1991. In Conference USA play, the Lady Toppers lead 6-3. The teams have split two C-USA Championship games.
LAST TIME AGAINST WKU
Kylee Schneringer scored seven of her career-high 17 points in the 4th quarter as UAB advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2022 Heritage Landscape Supply Group C-USA Basketball Championships after its 74-62 victory over WKU on March 9, 2022.

American Athletic Conference officials announced that Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, UTSA, Rice and Texas San Antonio will join UAB as new members in the AAC and compete against current AAC members East Carolina, Memphis, Navy, USF, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State. The move will be official on July 1, 2023.
