UAB MBB Looks to Bounce Back at Home Against WKU

BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's basketball (12-4, 3-2 C-USA) looks to get back on track at home against Western Kentucky (9-6, 1-3 C-USA) at 8 p.m. CT in Bartow Arena. The Blazers have dropped two consecutive games for the first time since the 2020-21 season.

SERIES HISTORY
UAB leads the all-time series 26-17. The Blazers won the sole meeting between the two teams last season, 68-65, in Bowling Green on Jordan Walker's three-pointer with seconds to go.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blazers fell at FIU in overtime by a score of 90-87 on a last-second layup and free throw. UAB led by as many as 15 points in the second half. Four different Blazers finished in double figures, including 19 points from Eric Gaines. Trey Jemison matched his career best of 17 points while grabbing 12 boards.
FAST PACED, HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
The Blazers are yet again one of the highest scoring teams in the country under Andy Kennedy. After finishing the 2021-22 season ranking sixth in points per game nationally, UAB once again finds itself in the top ten at No. 3 with 86.6 points per game. The Blazers are listed at No. 8 according to KenPom in adjusted tempo.
NOTHING BUT "NET"
The Blazers currently sit at No. 71 in the NCAA's NET ranking system. UAB is the third-highest rated team in Conference USA, trailing only Florida Atlantic at No. 13 and North Texas at 38. Charlotte is just behind the Blazers at No. 86 to round out the Top 100 for Conference USA.
WELCOME TO THE 1K CLUB
KJ Buffen, Tavin Lovan and Jordan Walker each surpassed 1,000 points in their collegiate careers with the Blazers. Buffen, Lovan and Walker are joined by brothers Ty Brewer and Ledarrius Brewer to have scored more than 1,000 points in their college basketball careers. UAB is the only known program in Division I with five 1,000-point scorers.
