UAB Men’s Golf Opens 2022-23 Season at Badger Invitational

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team is set to open the 2022-23 season this Sunday at the Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin.
The Blazers, who have reached the NCAA Tournament each of the past two years, are once again loaded with talent and should contend of a conference championship and another appearance at NCAAs.
Khavish Varadan leads the way as he enters his fourth season at UAB holding the school's second lowest career stroke average (71.86). He is joined by veteran seniors Alfie Fox and Ethan Hagood at the top of UAB's lineup.
Sophomore Paul Bruce gained valuable experience as a true freshman by playing in nine tournaments, while fellow sophomore Cole Imig rounds out UAB's lineup and will be playing in his second career tournament and his first in the starting lineup.
Along with the Blazers and Badgers, the field includes Ole Miss, South Carolina, Purdue, Texas A&M, USF, Marquette, Cincinnati, Nebraska, Campbell, Illinois State, Augusta, Northern Illinois, Western Carolina, South Dakota State, Maryland and WKU.
The tournament will be played at the University Ridge Golf Course and the field will play 18 holes each day, culminating on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
