UAB Finishes Third in Nation in Helper Helper Community Service Among D-I Women’s Tennis Teams

BIRMINGHAM - UAB finished third in the nation among the 309 NCAA women's tennis teams in community service in the NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Community Service Competition.
The Blazers have done wagon washing at Children's of Alabama, put on a tennis clinic at Highland Park Racquet Club, participated in the Youth Goalball Regional Tournament at the Lakeshore Foundation, created care packages for families in need at Bundles of Hope and meal packing for Rise Against Hunger. Additionally, the team volunteered at for the Ronald McDonald House, Lovelady Thrift Store and the UAB Engineering Fair.
In all, UAB logged 211 community service hours since the summer, with an average of 23.4 hours per player.
