BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team is set to participate in the NCAA Stockton Regional this Monday-Wednesday, May 16-18, at The Reserve at Spanos Park in California.
The Blazers are competing in NCAA Regionals for the 14th time in program history and look to finish inside the top five as a team in Stockton to make a return trip to NCAA Nationals. The Blazers finished fifth at last year's NCAA Noblesville Regional and advanced to NCAA Nationals where they placed 24th.
First year head coach Matt Whall will field a team consisting of First Team All-Conference USA selection Khavish Varadan, Second Team All-Conference honorees Nick Robillard and Alfie Fox, along with juniors Ethan Hagood and John Snoddy.
UAB earned the No. 9 seed in the Stockton Regional and will be paired with Liberty and BYU in round one at Spanos Park. Arizona State is the top-seeded team in the Regional, followed by Washington, Stanford, LSU and Oregon.
The Blazers enter the tournament as the 54th-ranked team in the nation. Individually, Khavish Varadan ranks No. 93 nationally and currently holds the school's fourth lowest single season stroke average at 71.2.
Snoddy with tee off first for UAB at 8:25 a.m. PT/10:25 a.m. CT. Live stats are available all week by clicking here, while updates are also available by following @UAB_MGOLF on Twitter and Instagram.
