UAB Men’s Golf Has Season Conclude at NCAA Stockton Regional

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team had its season conclude on Wednesday with a 13th place finish at the NCAA Stockton Regional at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
"Unfortunately it was a tough week for the Blazers," head coach Matt Whall said. "We dug ourselves a hole on the first day and could never really recover. It was the kind of course that didn't separate a whole lot so it needed three consecutive days of solid golf. The guys worked their socks off and tried hard but it wasn't our week.
"Overall I would say the year was a success. We won twice, two individual wins and an at-large regional bid is always strong. These guys have given everything, bought into a new culture and pushed the program in the right direction. I'm proud of these young men and who they are and proud to walk alongside them any day of the week."
The Blazers finished at +13 overall and was led by Khavish Varadan who shot +1 overall and tied for 44th overall.
Arizona State won the regional at -38, and the other four teams who advanced to NCAA Nationals from the Stockton Regional were Stanford (-28), BYU (-27), Oregon (-21) and Liberty (-18).
UAB finishes the season with an overall record of 110-53-5.
