UAB Men’s Golf Ties for Fifth at C-USA Championship

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team tied for fifth place at the Conference USA Championship this week at Texarkana Country Club.
The Blazers were unable to qualify for match play as they finished outside the top four, and now wait for the NCAA Selection Show on May 4.
UAB entered the week ranked No. 52 overall and the fifth-place finish improves its overall record to 109-41-5.
Khavish Varadan led the Blazers as he tied for 11th place overall at even par and improved one stroke each round (73-72-71 = 216). Ethan Hagood also had a very solid tournament by finishing in a tie for 13th overall at +1. Hagood (73-74-70 = 217), moved up 20 spots in the final round with a two-under 70.
Alfie Fox (70-74-75 = 219, +3) tied for 22nd, while Nick Robillard (76-74-72 = 222, +6) finished in a tie for 33rd. John Raccaitti (80-75-78 = 233, +17) rounded out UAB's lineup in 60th place.
There are six NCAA Regional sites and if UAB is selected, the Blazers will be appearing in their 14th NCAA Tournament.
