BIRMINGHAM- Softball season has begun! There is so much to be excited about in Birmingham as the team continues its 2022 season. UAB welcomes 15 newcomers to the roster this year. UABSports.com will introduce you to these new Blazers and provide unique opportunities to get to know them.
Today's Meet the Blazers profile features freshman outfielder Olivia Nay.

Number: 25
Position: Outfielder
Height: 5-6
Hometown: Auburn, AL.
High School: Auburn
Why did you choose UAB?
ON: "I was looking for a school after COVID-19, and I didn't have a place to call home. Scott Woodard was my hitting coach before he got the UAB job so I decided to become a Blazer. I have absolutely loved it!"
What is your major?
ON: Sports Communications
What/who is your favorite Musician?
ON: Ariana Grande/Trippie Redd
First softball memory:
ON: "When my hometown's All-Star team went to state and we won two games on my birthday."
Describe yourself in three words:
ON: Funny, determined, passionate.
Dream travel destination:
ON: Athens, Greece
Favorite thing to do outside of softball:
ON: "Wake surf at the lake, and play with my dogs."
What are you looking forward to most this season?
ON: "Learning the inner workings of UAB softball and improving as a player and a person."
UAB will face UTSA in a three-game series this weekend at Mary Bowers Field. First pitch of a doubleheader versus the Roadrunners is set for 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Friday's game is Youth Jersey Friday, where fans aged 17 and under will receive free admission with a school or club jersey.
Softball season tickets are available by purchasing the 2021-22 Gold Card for $65 here. The 2021-22 Gold Card will get you access to all home events for Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Softball, and Baseball (Regions Field & Young Memorial). This card is not valid for Conference USA or NCAA Championship events.
