UAB Hosts Georgia Tech for Midweek Matchup

BIRMINGHAM- UAB softball is set to host ACC foe Georgia Tech this Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. UAB came out on top 9-3 in the last meeting vs. the Yellow Jackets, which was played in February of 2020.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers (21-15, 9-3) are coming off a 1-2 series versus Western Kentucky and will be looking to get a quality midweek win versus Georgia Tech. Faith Hegh leads UAB with a .336 batting average, and 38 total hits. Sierra Frazier and Lilly Crowe are tied for the team lead in homeruns (4). Frazier also has 33 RBIs on the year. Jolie Readeaux leads the Blazers with 197 putouts. Sarah Cespedes (9-3) is the Blazer's go-to pitcher, with a .245 opposing batting average, and 53 strikeouts. Tyler Armistead paces UAB with 25 runs scored, and five stolen bases.

Georgia Tech (27-12, 8-10) secured a 2-1 series win versus Boston College this past weekend. Sandra Beth Pritchett leads the Yellow Jackets with a .500 batting average and .700 slugging percentage, Emma Kauf leads the ACC in doubles (15) and Tricia Awald leads the ACC in walks (42). 11 Yellow Jackets currently hold a perfect fielding percentage. Blake Neleman (11-6) is Georgia Tech's top pitcher, she has 149 strikeouts, and a 2.32 ERA.
