BIRMINGHAM- Softball season has begun! There is so much to be excited about in Birmingham as the team continues its 2022 season. UAB welcomes 15 newcomers to the roster this year. UABSports.com will introduce you to these new Blazers and provide unique opportunities to get to know them.
Today's Meet the Blazers profile features freshman infielder Lauren "Lulu" Brock.
Quick Facts:
Number: 9
Position: Infield
Height: 5-6
Hometown: Marianna, FL.
High School: Marianna, FL
Why did you choose UAB?
LB: "I loved the coaching staff and family atmosphere. I felt like this was the best place for me to grow as a softball player and a person."
What is your major?
LB: Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science.
What/who is your favorite Musician?
LB: Morgan Wallen
First softball memory:
LB: "I made the All-Star 8u team when I was six years old. I was the smallest on the team and my jersey didn't fit me, so I had to wear a shirt under my jersey that was long enough to be a dress!"
Describe yourself in three words:
LB: Spunky, Outgoing, Hard-Worker.
Dream travel destination:
LB: Bimini Islands in the Bahamas.
Favorite thing to do outside of softball:
LB: "Be with my friends and family."
What are you looking forward to most this season?
LB: "Competing with this amazing team and getting to experience what it is like to be a D1 softball player."
UAB will fly to Norman, OK to face #1 Oklahoma this weekend on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
