UAB Men’s Golf Continues Action at The Hayt

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team looks to continue its streak of top five finishes this weekend at The Hayt, hosted by the University of North Florida at Sawgrass Country Club.
The Blazers, who rank No. 40 this week in the national rankings, have finished top five in all five of their spring tournaments this year. UAB's success has improved its overall record to 89-19-3.
The Hayt is a two-day tournament with 36 holes on Sunday and 18 on Monday. The par 72 course will play 6,966 yards.
The tournament is loaded with eight teams ranked inside the top 50. Participating with UAB and No. 38 North Florida are Arkansas State, No. 39 Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, No. 45 Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, No. 43 Liberty, No. 37 Louisville, No. 25 LSU, Navy, North Texas, No. 19 Tennessee and UCF.
Khavish Varadan is the reigning Conference USA Co-Golfer of the Week after his fourth place finish at the Schenkel Invitational where he shot seven under. Varadan leads the team with a 70.4 stroke average and has notched five top 10 finishes this season.
