UAB Men’s Golf Ties for Fifth at Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – The UAB men's golf notched its seventh top five finish of the season as the Blazers tied for fifth at the Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern over the weekend.
The Blazers shot -3 for the tournament and finished behind Georgia Southern (-25), Notre Dame (-18), College of Charleston (-14) and Kentucky (-9). UAB now as an overall record of 89-19-3.
Khavish Varadan recorded his second-consecutive top 10 finish and his fifth fifth of the season by placing in a tie for fourth overall. Varadan (70-72-67 = 209, -7) had a massive final round by shooting five under to propel himself into the top five.
Ethan Hagood (73-71-74 = 218, +2) and Nick Robillard (70-69-79 = 218, +2) both tied for 31st overall, while Alfie Fox (75-74-72 = 221, +5) tied for 42nd.
Freshman Paul Bruce (76-69-80 = 225, +9) rounded out UAB's lineup by tying for 63rd.
The Blazers are back in action next weekend, March 27-28, at The Hayt, hosted by the University of North Florida in Ponte Verda Beach, Fla.
