Men’s Golf Ties for Third at Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – Led by a sixth place finish from senior Nick Robillard, the UAB men's golf team tied for third overall at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate at Reflection Bay in Henderson, Nev.
In three tournaments this spring, the Blazers have finished no worse than fourth place and now have an overall record of 65-15-1 this year.
Robillard was under par all three round this week in Vegas, posting a 70-71-68 = 209, -7. In the process, Robillard notched his fourth top 10 finish of the season.
Alfie Fox posted UAB's second lowest score at -5, which tied him for 11th overall. After an opening round 73 (+1), Fox shot six under (67-71) in his final two rounds to help the Blazers finish near the top.
Ethan Hagood tied for 21st by shooting 70-73-72 = 215, -1 to notch his first tournament this season shooting under par, while Khavish Varadan tied for 32nd (75-70-73 = 218, +2).
Paul Bruce (73-80-76 = 229, +13) rounded out UAB's lineup by tying for 68th, while John Racciatti played as an individual and tied for 39th (68-81-71 = 220, +4).
West Virginia entered the final round with the team lead and held on for the victory at -28. WVU was followed by Little Rock (-17), UAB (-13), Oregon State (-13) and Utah (-9) who rounded out the top five.
The Blazers are going to stay out west as they travel to Scottsdale, Ariz., this weekend for the Desert Mountain Collegiate hosted by the University of Michigan.
