Bayou Beach Duals Results 2022 Season Statistics

BIRMINGHAM – For the second time this season, the UAB beach volleyball team defeated Southern Miss, however, UAB finished 1-3 overall at the Bayou Beach Duals in New Orleans on Friday and Saturday.

The Blazers defeated the Golden Eagles 5-0, but suffered 3-2 setbacks to Tulane, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Houston Baptist. Six of UAB's nine losses came in three sets.

UAB had three pairs finish the weekend with 3-1 records including Rachel Tam and Adriana Pereira on court one, Mikayla Law-Heese and Arden Copping on court three and Ella Alexander and Naomi Ortiz on court five. Alexander has a team-best 8-5 overall record and has won five of her last six matches.

UAB now turns its attention to the March To May as it hosts one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country this coming weekend in Gulf Shores at the site of the 2022 NCAA National Championship.

The Blazers welcome UCLA, Florida State, LSU, South Carolina, Grand Canyon, Georgia State, Florida Atlantic and Tulane to the beach this weekend for the fourth annual March To May.
