UAB to Host March To May for Elite Beach Volleyball Tournament

GULF SHORES – The UAB beach volleyball team is set to host the fourth annual March To May in Gulf Shores this weekend, March 18-20, at The Hangout.
The Blazers, who host the NCAA National Championship at this exact site, welcome eight nationally ranked teams to Gulf Shores this weekend for a preview of the championship in May.
Along with UAB, the field includes No. 1 UCLA, No. 4 Florida State, No. 5 LSU, No. 7 Grand Canyon, No. 11 Florida Atlantic, No. 13 Georgia State, No. 15 South Carolina and No. 20 Tulane.
UAB will play six matches this weekend, starting on Friday with Georgia State and Tulane. Saturday features the Blazers playing South Carolina and Florida Atlantic. The Blazers conclude the tournament on Sunday with Grand Canyon and the top-ranked UCLA Bruins.
With weather moving into the area, Friday's schedules might be altered slightly in the morning. Check back with UAB_BVB on Twitter and Instagram for weather updates.
Ella Alexander enters this week's tournament with a team-best 8-5 overall record. She has won five of her six last contests and has anchored the back of UAB's lineup on courts four and five.
The tournament is scheduled to run all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public.
