GULF SHORES, Ala. – The UAB beach volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to No. 13 Georgia State on the opening day of the March to May at The Hangout in Gulf Shores.
The Blazers (5-9, 2-2 C-USA) started their match at 10 a.m., and soon thereafter endured a five-hour weather delay. Due to the weather, matches on day one of the March to May were played to decision to allow for as many games to be played as possible.
UAB was also supposed to play Tulane on Friday, but that match has been pushed to Sunday. Despite the five hour delay, the field was able to play six full matches today.
UAB is back in action on Saturday with matches against No. 15 South Carolina at 8 a.m. and No. 11 Florida Atlantic at 2 p.m.
