Paul Bruce Leads UAB at Daniel Island Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – Led by a top 10 finish from sophomore Paul Bruce, the UAB men's golf team finished ninth at the 2022 Daniel Island Intercollegiate in Charleston, S.C.
The Blazers shot +39 as a team, including a weekend-best +8 round to finish the tournament on Tuesday.
Bruce shot his low round of three under 69 in the final round, moving him into a tie for sixth place overall. Bruce shot 78-73-69 = 220, +4 for the tournament and finished six strokes behind the winner. This was his first top 10 finish in his career at UAB.
UAB had two other golfers finish inside the top 50, with Cole Imig finishing in 37th place at +12 (228) and Ethan Hagood finishing in 45th place at +14 (230).
Alfie Fox (78-72-82=232) and Price Brown (86-80-75=241) rounded out the starting lineup in 58th and 91st place, respectively.
John Bruce, who was the only Blazer competing as an individual, finished the weekend in a tie for 81st place at +22 (82-77-79=238).
The Blazers do not return to the course until 2023, when they will compete at the Hayt hosted by the University of North Florida on Feb. 5-6.
