BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team is set to travel to Charleston, S.C., to compete in the Daniel Island Intercollegiate hosted by Charleston Southern University this Sunday and Monday, Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
The Blazers are coming off their first tournament win of the season at The Carolina Cup back on Oct. 9 and will look to continue their momentum as they head to Charleston this weekend.
UAB will be competing without junior Khavish Varadan, who is currently at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in hopes of earning an invitation to the Masters.
Head Coach Matt Whall will field a team consisting of Alfie Fox, Ethan Hagood, Cole Imig, Paul Bruce, and Price Brown. John Bruce will be the only Blazer participating as an individual.
Along with the Blazers and Buccaneers, the field includes South Carolina, Virginia, Houston Christian University, College of Charleston, South Carolina Upstate, Louisiana Tech, Francis Marion, Memphis, Campbell, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, and Loyola Maryland.
The tournament will be played at the Daniel Island Club. The course is a par 72 and plays 7,446 yards.
