BIRMINGHAM – Head Coach A.J. Daugherty has named Megan Reynolds Director of Softball Operations for The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
"Megan is a huge addition to our staff. She has a background of handling softball operations at a high level, and we are ecstatic to have her join our Blazer family." said Daugherty.
Before joining the Blazers staff, Reynolds spent a year along the Alabama Gulf Coast working for a locally owned company, The Beach Moms, which specializes in luxurious beach weddings and picnics, vacation planning, and concierge services.
Beginning in 2019, Reynolds spent two years at The University of Alabama as the Director of Operations for Track & Field and Cross Country. Reynolds' duties included team travel, meals, equipment, support staff liaison, assistance to the coaching staff, and on-campus recruiting.
Auburn softball named Reynolds as the Director of Operations heading into the 2016-17 season. For three years in that role, Reynolds was responsible for more of the same. In addition, Reynolds served as tournament and camps director, On Deck Club liaison, and managed the program's budget.
While pursuing her master's, Reynolds spent two years in the compliance office at Grand Canyon University where she monitored athletics personnel and student-athletes to ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. Reynolds served on the Arizona State staff as an administrative assistant from 2012-13, where she held responsibilities for scheduling special events and booster club relations, including the annual golf tournament fundraiser. Before ASU, Reynolds held numerous roles with Creighton University Athletics, her alma mater. Reynolds was a walk-on for the Bluejays, before moving into a student assistant role after suffering a career-ending injury. In her four years as a coach, Creighton went 140-84 and reached two NCAA Tournaments, highlighted by a Missouri Valley Conference Championship in 2010.
Reynolds was promoted to Director of Operations for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Reynolds got her start in athletics as a marketing intern from 2007-2011, handling promotional activities at select Creighton athletic events. An Omaha, Neb. native, Reynolds received her bachelor's degree from Creighton in Journalism, Public Relations, and Advertising in 2011 and was awarded a master's degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2015.
