Trea Shropshire Named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – For his career day in leading UAB to a 41-14 victory over Middle Tennessee, senior wide receiver Trea Shropshire has been named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.
Shropshire had a career-high 193 receiving yards, which were the eighth most single game receiving yards in school history. All of his production came before halftime to help UAB lead 38-7 at the break, and he finished the game with six catches for 193 and a touchdown overall. Three of his six catches went for 40+ yards.
The Zachary, La. native is once again leading the nation in yards per catch with an average of 28.55 (11 catches, 314 yards, 2 TD). Shropshire finished last season as the national leader in this category.
Shropshire's efforts on Saturday moved him into 10th place on UAB's career receiving yards list with 1,327, and he is also tied for eighth in career touchdown receptions (11).
The Blazers remain in Birmingham this coming Saturday to host Charlotte for Family Weekend. Kickoff at Protective Stadium is set for 2:30 p.m.
