UAB Men’s Golf Set for NCAA Noblesville Regional

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Participating in the program's 13th NCAA Regional, UAB men's golf is set to play in the Noblesville Regional this Monday-Wednesday, May 17-19, at The Sagamore Club.
UAB earned the No. 7 seed in the Noblesville Regional. The top five teams from each of the six NCAA Regional sites advance to NCAA Nationals in Tempe, Ariz., from May 29-June 2.
The three-day NCAA Regional features 54 holes of stroke play with 18 holes each day. The course, which is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design, is a par 72 that plays 7,173 yards.
"We are extremely excited to participate in NCAA Regionals and are eager to compete against a field of high caliber teams," said head coach Mike Wilson. "We need to focus on one round at a time, and if we play to our potential, I like our chances of advancing to nationals."
Texas is the top seed in the Noblesville Regional which features 13 teams. The other participating team are No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Tennessee, No. 4 North Florida, No. 5 Louisville, No. 6 South Florida, No. 8 Duke, No. 9 UNC Wilmington, No. 10 Arkansas State, No. 11 Campbell, No. 12 UT Martin and No. 13 Loyola Chicago.
UAB is led by Conference USA Golfer of the Year Nick Robillard. He is joined by a pair of second team All-Conference USA selections in Drew Mathers and Khavish Varadan, redshirt senior William Walker III and sophomore Ethan Hagood.
This is UAB's first team appearance at NCAAs since the 2015-16 season, and the first time reigning two-time C-USA Coach of the Year Mike Wilson has led the Blazers to the tournament.
