UAB to Co-Host Collegiate Invitational at Birmingham Country Club

BIRMINGHAM – Along with Auburn University and the University of Kentucky, the UAB men's golf team is set to co-host the Collegiate Invitational this Monday-Wednesday, April 5-7, at the Country Club of Birmingham.
In one of the top tournament in the country, the field is loaded with nationally ranked teams. Along with UAB, Auburn and Kentucky, also participating is Alabama, Arkansas, Charlotte, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, North Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia.
UAB enters the tournament ranked No. 34 nationally, and the Blazers will be competing against eight teams inside the top 25. The tournament is stacked with ranked teams with 14 of the 15 inside the top 50 and all 15 teams ranking inside the top 100.
Drew Mathers and Nick Robillard are coming off The Hayt in which they both tied for 14th overall. Mathers is having an outstanding spring season, having notched top 15 finishes in all three spring events.
Robillard continues to lead the Blazers in stroke average at 71.7 and has finished top 20 in five of six tournaments this season.
UAB owns a 49-20-1 record and looks to qualify as a team for NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2015-16.
