BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Analyse Petree has been named Conference USA Hitter of the Week after a 10 RBI weekend at UTSA, the league office announced on Monday.
The redshirt senior batted .571 on the weekend with a team-high eight hits, three home runs, four runs and a double in UAB's four-game series sweep over the Roadrunners.
The Apopka, Fla., native slugged 1.286 and recorded an on-base percentage of .562.
"I have great respect for what Analyse and our entire offense did this weekend," head coach Joe Guthrie said. "We need to keep that momentum going."
In the series opener on Friday, Petree hit a three-run home run, going 1-of-2 from the plate and recording a game-high four RBIs in the Blazers' 8-5 victory.
In a come-from-behind 6-2 victory to open Saturday's doubleheader, Faith Hegh, Sierra Frazier and Petree hit back-to-back-to-back solo home runs, breaking the then-tied game wide open.
In the final game on Sunday, Petree hit her third home run of the series and recorded her second four RBI game in as many days, helping UAB run rule UTSA 12-0 in five innings.
This is the first weekly award of Petree's career, and the third time this season that a Blazer has been honored. Parker Conrad was named the C-USA Pitcher of the Week on March 1, and Amy Woodham picked up the same honor on March 15.
UAB (25-17, 12-4 C-USA) returns to action on the road Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Samford.
