UAB Baseball Drops Series Finale at Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The UAB baseball team fell in the series finale to Middle Tennessee, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, Middle Tennessee (21-17-1, 10-9-1 C-USA) took the series, 3-1. UAB drops to 13-27, 6-14 C-USA on the season.
Austin Bohannon got the start, tossing a career-high seven innings with three strikeouts. Evan Ingram (0-3) took the loss, while Middle Tennessee's David Zoz (6-0) picked up his second win of the series.
After four scoreless innings, the Blazers broke through with two runs in the fifth. Bases were loaded with no outs and Middle Tennessee went to its bullpen with Joseph Kiel due up. Kiel executed the squeeze to bring in J Paul Fullerton from third. Zack Davis came up in the next at-bat and brought in Blaine Smith for the 2-0 advantage.
Middle Tennessee tied the game at two in the eighth inning on a two RBI double from Hunter Sullivan. The Blue Raiders walked it off in the ninth on a Fausto Lopez single to drive in Briggs Rutter from second for the 3-2 win.
The Blazers return home versus Alabama on April 27 at Regions Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tickets for the contest are available by clicking here.

Fans, including Gold Card holders and students, will not be permitted to attend home baseball games played at Young Memorial Field. Attendees will be limited to the player pass list and limited premium spaces.
Attendees will be asked to practice social distancing and wear a mask at all times per state and county ordinance.

Regions Field will accommodate fans, including Gold Card holders and students, with social distancing measures in place.
Fans will be asked to practice social distancing and sit in available seats. Masks are required at all times per state and county ordinance.

General admission single game tickets will be on sale for games at Regions Field and seats on site are available in groups of up to four (4) seats by clicking here.
