BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team heads to Charlotte, N.C. for the 2021 Conference USA Championship this Friday-Sunday, April 23-25.
UAB (5-11, 0-2 C-USA) is the No. 8 seed and opens up the event on Friday at 1 p.m. against nationally-ranked No. 46 and 1-seed Middle Tennessee (14-7, 1-0 C-USA). The regular season match between the two squads was canceled.
The Green and Gold have dropped four consecutive matches coming into the conference championship since besting Jacksonville State, 4-1, on March 21. Middle Tennessee enters the weekend off a 4-2 victory against Georgia State on April 16.

Middle Tennessee has won the last four matchups between the two, as UAB's last win against the Blue Raiders came in Murfreesboro, Tenn. on March 25, 2016.
The winner of Friday's match moves on to face the winner of No. 4-seed UTSA and No. 5-seed Charlotte on Saturday at 11 a.m.
