UAB Baseball Hosts Kennesaw State for Three-Game Series

BIRMINGHAM — The UAB baseball team welcomes Kennesaw State for a three-game series March 5-7 at Young Memorial Field. Game one is scheduled for a 4 p.m. first pitch with games two and three set to begin at 1 p.m.
"Looking forward to being back out at beautiful Young Memorial Field," head coach Perry Roth said. "We have some guys really playing well and it's fun to see our team compete. Excited to have good weather this weekend and another opportunity to get better and see how good we can be."
UAB (5-2, 0-0 CUSA) vs. KENNESAW STATE (5-3, 0-0 ASUN)
The series between UAB and Kennesaw State began in 2006. The first game resulted in a 8-6 win for the Owls. The Blazers have won the last two meetings, including a 2-1 extra-inning contest at Regions Field in 2016.
UAB LATELY
The Blazers capped off a series sweep of Alabama A&M in a 7-3 victory on Sunday at Regions Field. In the three games, UAB outscored the Bulldogs 38-7. Junior Caleb Floyd led the Blazers going 7-for-12 in the three games with three doubles, two home runs and six RBIs. The game against Alabama on March 2 was postponed due to weather.
KENNESAW STATE LATELY
Kennesaw State is coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Coastal Carolina Tournament. The Owls suffered a 13-3 loss against West Virginia in game one. Their win came on the second day in a 7-6 victory over Bryant. Kennesaw State faced No. 5 Georgia in a midweek contest on March 3, resulting in a 6-4 win for the Owls.
