UAB Places Sixth at the Hayt Invitational

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The UAB men's golf team placed sixth at the two-day Hayt Invitational in its third tournament of the spring at the Sawgrass Country Club hosted by North Florida.
UAB finished the tournament at +7, placing behind No. 14 Clemson (-19), North Florida (-8), No.1 Florida State (-1), No.15 Liberty (+4) and UCF (+5).
The Blazers had two players finish inside the top 20, with senior Drew Mathers and junior Nick Robillard tying for 14th overall.
Mathers and Robillard both shot a three-round total of 217 (+1).
Freshman Khavish Varadan tied for 44th overall, shooting two rounds of 77 (+5), before posting a 70 (-2) in the final round.
Redshirt senior William Walker III (E) and sophomore Ethan Hagood (+4) both finished tied for 50th.
Playing as an individual, John Snoddy finished T-73, finishing the tournament at +1.
The Blazers now turn their attention to next week when UAB hosts the Shoal Creek Tournament on April 5-7 at the Shoal Creek Club.
