BIRMINGHAM – Starting pitcher Parker Conrad recorded 10 strikeouts and relief pitcher Olivia Valbak added five to secure a 4-1 victory for the UAB softball team over North Alabama on Wednesday night at Mary Bowers Field.
Conrad improved to 3-1 on the year and lowered her ERA to 2.10 ERA. She now has a team-high 42 strikeouts this season. Valbak tallied her first career save and also had an RBI double in the victory.
Analyse Petree led the offense by going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer which proved to be the game-winning runs.

Despite two more strikeouts for Conrad in the fourth, the Lions (10-4) scored the first run of the game on a solo home run to right center from Harley Stokes.
