Conrad Named Conference USA Pitcher Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM – After allowing no runs in three appearances, redshirt senior Parker Conrad has been named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
In 10.1 innings of work for UAB, Conrad (2-0) allowed just three hits, struck out 15 batters and earned her first two victories in the circle as a Blazer.
The Winter Park, Fla., native struck out five batters in each of her three appearances, including five at No. 3 Alabama in just 2.1 innings, helping UAB improve to 8-5 on the season and go 4-1 on the week.
"Parker and the pitching staff did a great job for us this week," head coach Joe Guthrie said. "I'm impressed with her determination to continue to improve and adapt. Big things are ahead for her and our team if we continue to grind and trust the process."
Conrad has a 1.21 ERA in 17.1 innings pitched this season, a team-high 24 strikeouts and has given up just eight hits.
Up next for the Blazers is a March 5-7 trip to Athens for the Georgia Tournament. UAB will go up against Mercer, Georgia and Charleston Southern.
