BIRMINGHAM – Softball season is almost here! There is so much to be excited about in Birmingham as the UAB softball team opens its schedule up on Feb. 12 in Troy, Ala. The team welcomes nine newcomers to the roster for the 2021 season. UABSports.com will introduce you to these new Blazers and provide unique opportunities to get to know them.
Today's 'Meet the Blazers' profile features freshman infielder, Brooke Davis.

High School: Keller
What is your favorite thing about Keller?
BD: "My favorite thing about my hometown is how I can always see my friends and family."
What has been your favorite part of Birmingham so far?
BD: "The school spirit and playing softball."
When did you start playing softball and why?
BD: "I started playing softball when I was four years old. My mom played softball in college and I always looked up to her, so I found a love for softball myself."
What is your favorite softball memory?
BD: "I went to Canada to play in the Canadian Cup Tournament where I got to play against players like Amanda Show and Sis Bates and the Korean softball team."
Did you play any other sports growing up?
BD: "I played select basketball for a majority of my life and I also ran track."
Why do you wear the No. 5?
BD: "I wear No. 5 as my jersey number because it's one of my favorite numbers.
Why did you choose UAB?
BD: "I chose UAB because I felt welcome and because of how nice the people in Alabama are."
Do you have any siblings? If so, what are their names and how old are they?
BD: "I have a younger sister named Brandy who is 17 years old."
Who is your biggest inspiration?
BD: "My biggest inspiration is my mom because she has always been my biggest fan and has always pushed me to be better."
Do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up?
BD: "I always wanted to be a teacher, but now I'm looking more into the medical field."
What do you want to be now?
BD: "I am looking into occupational therapy and the psychology field as my major now."
What are you majoring in?
BD: "I am currently undeclared but looking into psychology."
Do you have a favorite quote?
BD: "If you see somebody without a smile give them yours" -Dolly Parton
What is your favorite TV show to binge watch?
BD: "My favorite TV show is either Greys Anatomy or The 100."
What do you like to do in your free time?
BD: "I like to spend time with my family and friends and hunt and fish."
If you could have any actress play you in a movie about your life who would it be?
BD: "Sandra Bullock."
What is your favorite meal/food?
BD: "Homemade tacos."
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
BD: "I would live in Texas because that's where I was born and raised."
What is your favorite book?
BD: "My favorite book is Killer Instinct by S.E Green."
What are you looking forward to most in your first softball season at UAB?
BD: "I am looking forward to making great memories with my teammates and winning!"
