What is your favorite thing about your hometown?
SG: "I only live about 30 minutes from Nashville and it's such a fun city. It's really cool to know that I live so close to a city that many people love to visit.'
What has been your favorite part of Birmingham so far?
SG: "I am very thankful to have met some of my best friends here in Birmingham."
When did you start playing softball and why?
SG: "I started playing softball when I was about six or seven. My parents wanted me to choose a sport to play and I just so happened to choose softball."
What is your favorite softball memory?
SG: "Going to the state championship my junior year of high school."
Why do you wear the No. 25?
SG: "I wear 25 because my dad's football number was 25. All of my sisters also wore 25 when they played sports. Fun fact: I have 25 tattooed on my wrist."
Why did you choose UAB?
SG: "UAB felt like a second home to me. I loved everyone I met when I first visited. I loved the coaching staff and the team. It just felt like the right place for me."
Do you have any siblings? If so, what are their names and how old are they?
SG: "I have three older sisters. The oldest is Chyna (29), then Maegan (25) and then Kristen, who would have been 23. She sadly passed away when she was 11."
Who is your biggest inspiration?
SG: "My biggest inspirations are both of my parents. They have both faced a lot of adversity in their lives and both come out stronger on the other side. Seeing that taught me that I can overcome anything. They push me to be the best I can be and I can't thank them enough for that. They are my favorite people in the world and I want to make them proud every chance I can."
Do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up?
SG: "I remember all I wanted to do was play softball. I never really thought about what I wanted to do after my career. I think I assumed I would just play softball forever."

What are you majoring in?
SG: "Business focusing on entrepreneurship."

If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
SG: "Hawaii."
What is your favorite book?
