UAB Volleyball Returns Home to Host LA Tech

BIRMINGHAM — The UAB volleyball team returns to Bartow Arena for a two-match series against Louisiana Tech on Saturday and Sunday.

SCOUTING LA TECH
- Elizabeth Sandoval leads the offensive attack for the Lady Techsters with 53 kills and 2.21 kills per set on the season.
- On the defensive end, Alyssa Zucco leads the team with 115 digs and while Laura Ehieze leads with 18.0 blocks.
THE LAST TIME OUT
- UAB traveled to Houston, Texas for a two-match series versus Conference USA West Division leader Rice. The Owls came away with two three-set sweeps over the Blazers.
- Over the two matches, sophomore Fernanda Maida had 27 kills. Freshman Laney Dale led the Blazers with 27 assists.
STATS RANKINGS
- Maida leads Conference USA in attacks per set (13.00) and kills per set (4.57). She also has a top-five conference mark in total kills (128) and total attacks (128).
- Freshman Erin Powers is fifth in Conference USA in total digs (131) and seventh is digs per set (4.23).
