No. 5 UAB Men’s Golf in Fourth After Round One in Mobile

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team sits in fourth place after the opening 18 holes of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate hosted by South Alabama at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
The Blazers have a trio of Blazers inside the top 10 as Ben Reichert, Nick Robillard and William Walker III all shot a two-under 70 and are tied for 10th.
Walker III carded five birdies (including four on the front nine) and three bogeys, while Reichert carded four birdies and Robillard three.
Both Khavish Varadan and Ethan Hagood shot even par and are tied 27th overall. Drew Mathers rounded out the UAB lineup with a four-over 76.
Illinois (-14) leads the field after round one, and is followed by Kent State (-9), Louisville (-8), UAB (-6) and Indiana (-5).
Individually, Yannick Schuetz of South Alabama and Michael Feagles and Adrien Dumont de Chassart of Illinois all share the lead at five under.
