UAB Men's Tennis Finishes Strong at CCB Collegiate Invite

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team capped off the final day of their final fall
tournament with a 6-1 record, sweeping both their doubles matches on Sunday at the CCB
Collegiate Invite at the Country Club of Birmingham.
Vojtech Podzemny notched three singles victories over the weekend, earning a pair of wins on Saturday before knocking off Lipscomb's Carlos Salas Tulla 7-6 (5), 6-3 on Sunday.
Martin Vasquez recorded a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Samford's Timoythy Dixon on Friday before grinding out a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (7) triumph over Bellarmine's Emil Berglund. Teammate Nikola Puric also found success against Bellarmine with a comeback 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (11) win over Jack Batchelor.
Parker Bradbary also closed out his weekend with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Dixon on Sunday.
In doubles, the pairing of Bradbary/Vasquez opened the weekend with an 8-7 win over Samford's Matthew Gooch and Ben Kiblinger. The Blazer tandem then closed out their weekend on Sunday with an 8-5 victory over Nicholls State's Antonio Sasso and Prasanna Pravin Bagade.
The pairing of Puric/Podzemny also earned a win on Sunday with an 8-4 win over Bellamine's Cole Groetsch and Paul Reynolds.
