DALLAS – After leading the Blazers in several offensive categories this season, UAB forward Nathaniel St. Louis was named Second Team All-Conference USA on Tuesday.
St. Louis, a senior forward from Toronto, led the Blazers in goals scored (five), points (11), shots (26) and shots on goal (16). The senior also served as a workhorse for the Green and Gold this season, ranking third with 1,143 minutes played over 15 appearances and 14 starts.
St. Louis netted his first goal of the season in UAB's 2-1 overtime victory at Ohio State, registering the equalizer after the Buckeyes tallied the game's opening goal. His goal-scoring efforts helped the Blazers earn their first win over a Big 10 school since another 2-1 overtime victory over Indiana in 2013.
The senior followed up his strong performance at Ohio State with his first multi-point effort against UTRGV, tallying an assist and a game-tying goal in the 85th minute to send the match to overtime.
St. Louis tallied a goal in four of UAB's first six matches, including the Blazers' fourth goal in a 5-1 win at Gardner-Webb on Sept. 18.
Defending national champion Marshall led the league with five superlative awards, while 2021 C-USA regular season champion FIU along with Kentucky had two superlative award winners each.
